Denver Public Library

Relaunching the most inclusive club in the city.

A citywide reading initiative led by Denver Public Library, One Book One Denver invites residents across neighborhoods, ages, and backgrounds to engage with a shared text as a catalyst for dialogue, reflection, and collective understanding. At its core, the program is driven by ideals of access, civic participation, and the belief that literature can function as common ground in a fragmented cultural landscape.

In terms of design intent, OBJECT—STUDIO approached the campaign identity as a unifying civic signal rather than a promotional veneer. The goal was to create a system that could flex across formats, institutions, and communities while remaining immediately recognizable and inclusive. We developed a clear, typographically driven identity that emphasized legibility, warmth, and adaptability—capable of living on posters, transit ads, library materials, digital platforms, and community-generated content without losing coherence.

The resulting solution balances structure with openness: a strong visual framework that foregrounds the book and programming, while providing tools for interpretation, participation, and local expression. By prioritizing clarity the identity reinforces the program’s broader mission—to foster shared experience, reduce barriers to engagement, and position reading as an active, communal practice embedded in the life of the city.
